FAQ & getting started

Everything you need to get from install to your first Fit Score.

Getting started

  1. Set your goal. Onboarding asks what you're after — lose fat, build muscle, recomp, or maintain — plus your units and stats. This sizes your targets.
  2. Pick a fasting window. Choose 12:12 up to 20:4 (16:8 is the common starting point). Start and end each fast from the Today tab; the live timer shows where you are in the window.
  3. Hit your protein target. GetFit sets a daily gram target you can adjust from 60–300 g. Log protein as you eat — it takes seconds.
  4. Train your plan. Pick full body, upper/lower, push/pull/legs, home dumbbell, or bodyweight. Log sets with weight, reps, and RPE, with a rest timer between sets — or use the quick-loggers for single exercises and walks or runs.
  5. Connect Apple Health. Weight and steps sync automatically, so weigh-ins and movement count without manual entry.
  6. Watch your Fit Score. Each day scores your fast, protein, and training. A weekly check-in reviews the trend and adjusts your targets.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Fit Score?

The Fit Score is a daily 0–100 grade of how well you worked the three levers: staying inside your fasting window, hitting your protein target, and training. It resets each morning, and consistent days build your streak.

How does the coach work?

The built-in AI coach answers questions about your fasting, protein, and training in context of your actual data. The free plan includes 3 coach replies per month; Premium raises that to 100 per month. Quick template answers — like your current hydration or fasting status — don’t count against the limit.

What does Premium include, and how does the trial work?

Premium unlocks 100 coach replies a month and every future premium feature as it ships. It’s an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID — annual ($59.99/yr), quarterly ($19.99), or monthly ($9.99). The annual plan includes a 30-day free trial for new subscribers, and you can cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.

Where is my data stored?

On your device. GetFit has no account system and no backend — your logs never leave your phone unless you export them. You can export everything (or delete everything) from Profile → Privacy & data.

How does Apple Health sync work?

With Apple Health connected, GetFit reads your weight and step count so weigh-ins and daily movement flow in automatically, and you can trigger a manual sync anytime from Profile → Health integrations.

Can I change my fasting window, protein target, or training plan later?

Yes — everything you chose during onboarding can be changed anytime from the Profile tab: goal, fasting schedule, protein target, training plan, units, and reminders.

Is fasting right for me?

GetFit provides general wellness information, not medical advice. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional before starting a fasting, nutrition, or training program — especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or take medication. If you feel unwell during a fast or workout, stop.

What do I need to run GetFit?

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Apple Health sync is optional but recommended.
